Job Description

Homeroom Teacher

1. Role and Responsibilities

Korea International Christian School, an internationally accredited school, is looking for dedicated teachers who are passionate about teaching elementary students as a homeroom teacher. As an elementary homeroom teacher, you will be responsible for teaching a well-balanced curriculum, including math, science, social studies, language arts, and PE following the text books.

 

Responsibilities

  • Teach subjects to elementary students including math, science, social studies and language arts
  • Ensure that students meet all learning standards laid out by the school
  • Provide feedback on student learning and facilitate student learning in areas students struggle in
  • Follow the textbooks and syllabi provided by the school to create a diverse curriculum and lesson plans for students
  • Add appropriate learning activities, visual aids, and auditory aids to lessons
  • Grade assignments and prepare student progress reports in a timely manner
  • Attend and participate in faculty and staff meetings


 

2. Candidate Qualifications

Foreigners (F-2, F-4, F-5, and F-6 Visa Holders) and Korean Citizens

  • Candidates must hold a minimum of a bachelor degree from an accredited university and have their apostilled diploma on hand
  • Candidates must hold a federal level background check with a federal level apostille
  • Candidates must be able to teach classes in fluent English
  • Candidates must be able to teach English, math, science, and social studies

 

Preferences

  • Candidates with teaching licenses are preferred
  • Candidates with previous teaching experience at international schools are preferred
  • Candidates who are hard-working and able to adapt to a fast-paced school environment are preferred

 

3. Job Overview

  • Working Hours: Full Time (M-F: 8:30 AM-5:30 PM); Part-Time (Negotiable)
  • Teaching Hours: Full time 25-30; Part-time (Negotiable)
  • Class Length: 50 min/class
  • Students per Class: 8-20 Students
  • Grade Level: Kindergarten, Grade 1-5

 

4. Salary

Negotiable, based on experience and qualifications

 

5. Benefits

Insurance and Financial: Insurance and pension will be matched by the employer

Contract Completion Bonus: Provided upon completion of contract

Vacation: Full time – 15days in addition to national holidays in Korea; Part-time -Negotiable

Housing: Provided housing or housing allowance (for F-visa holders or candidates who have lived in the U.S. and/or Canada for over 10 years)
